Getting Over Fad Diets

Log onto the web and search the word ‘diet’.
You will end up with various different results, go through the pages or search the other relatives, you are likely to get about twenty different diets which probably worked wonders for some and not so much for others.

This is the beauty of internet, you have all the information you will ever require at your fingertips, but is it liable or not, that is yet to be decided, anyway getting over that. You will likely come across some celebrity endorsed diet (Think the lemon diet by Beyoncé) or a diet made up by some celebrity trainer. The thing is there is quite some amount of them out there. So which one do you select?

If we could change our bodies, most of us would wish for a slimmer waist, a thigh gap, a larger bust line, wider hips, maybe a bigger booty, it varies from person to person. I know exactly what I would change, but the world doesn’t operate like that, I really desperately wished it did, but it just doesn’t.
The diet bug bit me about four years ago, and in that time I have done ever bloody diet I could find, followed it to the T, hoping to actually look like the after picture most of them represent, you can find most of the information you need to any of the diet I have done before here.

The thing about these ‘fad diets’ and ‘Yo-Yo diets’ is that they work, at least for the short amount of time they do. So if you have a upcoming event where you want to fit into a tight dress or something, go right ahead, it will give you results.
This is what’s the most lucrative about these diets, they promise amazing results, and at a lightning fast rate. You will fit into that dress or that tux, you will feel like a million bucks, but probably for that night alone.

I hate the saying ‘no pain, no gain’, it’s been misinterpreted so many times where we actually believe we have to suffer to actually get some results.

Fad diets work, they really do, they provide you with amazing results, but they don’t last long enough. You put yourself and your body through hell for some time to get something, which won’t be there once you stop dieting.

We are not talking about drinking green tea every day, these are the extreme diets women and men alike seem to be trying everywhere, the liquid diets, the juicing and all that kind of stuff which will eventually result into metabolic damage.

But we want to look thinner!

You don’t need to look thinner, you need to get fitter. When you don’t eat anything following some crazy diet, you do not lose the fat in your body, you lose the muscle, I am sure you must have heard about it before, people have been on this, I have read about it and ignored it and it didn’t really do me any good.

It’s scary when I see kids young as thirteen wanting to lose weight, trying and wanting to look a way that won’t be possible and if it is possible it won’t be healthy. I suppose the media is to blame.

I guess it all drowns to self-acceptance. Being comfortable in your own skin. When I say this I am not advising you to stop looking after yourself. I am asking you to actually invest more time in yourself, you are way more worth than some miserable diet that you will follow or some weight loss supplement that promises you to melt the pounds off of you.

It all comes down to eating healthy, having a cheat day, which you won’t even need because there are delicious recipes out there, and ready to satisfy all your cravings. Join a gym or a yoga studio or just walk.

Do I still search the web for Fad diets?

Yes, I do. But now I am more for the ones which are actually beneficial for the body than the ones for losing weight.

It all comes down to feeling beautiful and pretty in our own skin and most of us have different ways to go about it.

I believe that all of us are sexy and all of us are beautiful but in our own ways, it’s a vast world and there is only one of you and that is pretty darn amazing if you ask me.
